HYDERABAD: The Juvenile Justice Board of Hyderabad ruled on Friday that four of the five accused minors in the Jubilee Hills gang-rape case could be put to trial as majors.

According to reports, the Hyderabad city police filed a petition with the Juvenile Justice Board Hyderabad, after filing the chargesheet, to have the minor suspects in the sensational gang-rape case tried as majors in light of the seriousness of the crime.

The police claimed that the minors were mature enough to be confronted as adults and that they had committed a horrifying and serious crime in their petition.

Six suspects, including a major, were all arrested in July in connection with the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl in a car on May 28 in Jubilee Hills.
