The Kakinada District Police have arrested seven persons including three traffickers after busting a racket of alleged drug peddling
KAKINADA: The Kakinada District Police have arrested seven persons including three traffickers after busting a racket of alleged drug peddling through courier service. They seized 15 NDMA (Methylene Dioxy Methamphetamine) pills and five kg of ganja (marijuana). The arrests were made after the police acted on a tipoff about the trafficking of drugs by DTDC courier from Mangalagiri to Kakinada.
Speaking to the media, Kakinada SP M Rabindranath Babu said that they had arrested Rahul, Subhash, and Emmanuel, for running the drug racket. The other four arrested in the case were nabbed while they were consuming the drugs bought from the peddlers. He said that 8.24 grams of MDMA pills and five kg of ganja had been seized from the linchpins.
Rabindranath Babu said that one of the accused, K Rahul, comes with a past criminal record and sells the paper drug LSD. He hatched a plan to bring MDMA pills to Mangalagiri through a dark website. "His modus operandi is to send them to Kakinada through courier service and sell them to the youths through a gang," SP added.
