HYDERABAD: The Kachiguda Railway police have busted the kidnap case of a two-month-old infant, who was lifted from a footpath in Afzalgunj.

The two-month-old infant went missing in Afzalgunj, prompting the family members to lodge a complaint with the police. Swati, the mother of the baby ekes out a living on the footpaths in the area. The police, as part of their investigation, tracked down the infant and the kidnappers to Uppuguda railway station with the help of CCTV footage.

They later rushed to the spot and rescued the infant besides detaining the kidnappers. The case is being investigated further. The family members heaved a sigh of relief on seeing their baby rescued within 24 hours.

Alkapuri businessman’s house burgled; gold, silver stolen

A businessman’s house located in Alkapur Township of Narsingi near Hyderabad was burgled by thieves who decamped with 300 grams of gold, two kgs of silver besides some precious ornaments.

According to reports, the businessman went on a summer vacation with his family. The thieves, who seemed to have recced the locked house, struck at it. They made their way inside by breaking open the locks of the house.

The businessman, on his return from vacation on Friday, was shocked to see his house burgled and the gold and silver kept inside stolen. He lodged a complaint with the Narsingi police who registered a case and are investigating it.
