Life imprisonment for son, daughters who murdered father for money
A son and his two sisters have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of their father over a financial dispute.;
HYDERABAD: In a shocking case of patricide, a son and two daughters have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of their father in Rangareddy district.
The 8th Additional District Judge, M. Satish Kumar, delivered the verdict, imposing a fine of Rs. 5,000 on each convicted sibling.
The crime took place in the Jillelaguda area of Balapur Mandal, where the deceased, Medipalli Krishna (58), resided. Krishna, a retired employee of the Water Works Department, was the father of five daughters and one son. Two of his daughters were married.
According to Additional Public Prosecutor Mothe Gangareddy, the incident unfolded when Krishna’s son, Tarun (24), along with his sisters Anjali (25) and Priyanka (19), demanded money from their father. When Krishna refused, a heated argument broke out. In a fit of rage, Tarun attacked his father with an iron rod, killing him instantly.
Upon discovering the crime, Krishna's brother immediately lodged a complaint with the Meerpet police. The authorities swiftly arrested the accused and brought them to trial. After examining the evidence and witness statements, the court found the three siblings guilty of murder and sentenced them to life in prison.
