PALAKURTHI: Lakavath Srinu, a man who attempted self-immolation outside the Palakurthi Police Station in Warangal, has died after succumbing to his injuries. The incident, which took place on Friday, was reportedly motivated by his frustration over perceived injustice at the hands of the police.

Before setting himself ablaze, Srinu recorded a selfie video accusing Palakurthi CI Mahender Reddy and SI Sai Prasanna Kumar of being responsible for his death. In the video, he expressed his anger over the lack of action on his complaints and cited this as the reason for his drastic step.

Following the incident, there has been significant outrage, especially among local tribal organisations, who are planning large-scale protests outside the police station. Meanwhile, Warangal Police Commissioner is reportedly considering the dismissal of SI Sai Prasanna Kumar, and departmental action against CI Mahender Reddy and other involved officers is also being prepared, according to reliable sources.

The situation remains tense as investigations continue, and authorities are expected to take further steps in response to the growing public outcry.
