Man, family members booked under POCSO for marrying 6th class girl in Mahabubnagar

MAHABUBNAGAR: A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against a young man for marrying a 6th-class girl from his village in Gandeed Mandal, Mahabubnagar district.

Birappa, a village resident, married the minor girl in June. The incident came to light when a teacher at the girl's school informed authorities about the marriage.

The authorities promptly took the girl to a state home and registered a case against the youth and the girl's family members involved in the marriage.
