Man gets lifer for murdering mother as she refused money

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad's first Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court Judge D Ramakanth on Tuesday sentenced accused Banjara Santosh to life imprisonment and a Rs 10,000 fine for the murder of his 50-year-old mother Sangeetha.

According to the police, Banjara Santosh(22), a Ganja and alcohol addict, attacked his mother when she refused to give him money for his personal use.

He reportedly became enraged when his mother refused to give him the money and stabbed her in the stomach with a kitchen knife. His mother, who worked as a housemaid in SR Nagar, died on the spot.

A case was registered at the S.R.Nagar police station in Hyderabad under Cr.No.09/2021 U/s 302 IPC.
