Maoist killed in encounter in Mulugu district

MULUGU: A Maoist was killed in an encounter with the police in the Mulugu district on Friday.

According to sources, the police exchanged fire with Maoists in the Balle Palli border area. The incident involved the Narsampet Division Secretary, Badrudalam, and resulted in the death of one Maoist, identified as Ashok, from Gollabuddaram village in Bhupalpally district. Several others were reportedly injured.

The police are currently conducting combing operations in the forest to locate the injured Naxals.
