Minor girl fights off predators, escapes from rape bid in Hayatnagar

HAYATNAGAR: A transgender came to the rescue of a minor girl, who was kidnapped and an attempt was made to rape her by two unknown assailants in Pedda Amberpet under the Hayatnagar police station limits. The young girl also reportedly displayed exemplary courage in battling the two predators, leading to her rescue.

According to the information given by the owner of a nearby hotel to the police, the minor, who went out to answer nature’s call on Tuesday night, was abducted by the two accused and taken to a deserted place where they attempted to rape her. The accused even used a spray to make her unconscious and gain control over her. However, the girl resisted them and managed to escape from the spot.

Meanwhile, a transgender who came to the hotel to pick up a parcel, noticed the girl and spoke to her. The transgender took the contact number of the victim's parents and escalated the matter to both the parents and the police.

The Hayatnagar police arrived at the spot and shifted the girl, who fainted, to the hospital. Meanwhile, the police on Wednesday took the victim to the place where she was assaulted and reconstructed the scene besides questioning the eyewitnesses who saved the girl.

Speaking to the media, the transgender said that they could bump into the victim in the nick of time and that things could have gone worse otherwise.
