GUNTUR: Guntur police uncovered a shocking series of murders involving a mother-daughter duo and two accomplices, all of whom were women.

The accused had been targeting individuals for financial gains, poisoning them with cyanide. The main suspects, Madiala Venkateshwari alias Bujji (32) and her mother Ramannamma, are residents of Tenali Lingayya Colony. Venkateshwari previously worked as a volunteer but later became involved in cybercrimes after travelling to Cambodia. She returned to India due to health issues, left her husband, and started living with her mother.

Their lifestyle led them to commit a series of murders for money. In total, they killed three women and one man while planning to murder three others. The other two women involved in the murders are Rajini and Bhudevi, both from Tenali.

In one incident in 2022, Venkateshwari and her mother poisoned her aunt, Subbalakshmi, from Markapuram, Prakasam district. They killed her by mixing cyanide in alcohol, allegedly because she refused to transfer her property to them.

In August 2023, the duo poisoned an elderly woman, Nagamma, from Tenali, who had been asking them to repay a loan. They laced a cold drink with cyanide and gave it to her.

In April 2024, Bhudevi’s husband, Moshe alias Pisu, who frequently harassed her, was poisoned with cyanide in alcohol by Bhudevi and Ramannamma, who believed they could collect insurance money after his death.

In June 2024, Venkateshwari, along with Rajini, poisoned a woman named Nagoor Bee by mixing cyanide in a beverage. This murder raised suspicions, leading to an investigation that exposed the series of killings orchestrated by the mother-daughter duo.

Police also discovered that the duo had attempted to murder three other women: Annapurna, Varalakshmi, and Meerabeel, all from Tenali. Further investigations are ongoing.
