NIA chargesheets 5 Maoist frontal organisations in Visakhapatnam Dt

VIJAYAWADA : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against five people before the NIA Special Court in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, in a case involving radicalization and recruitment of youth into the CPI (Maoist) cadres, a proscribed organisation.

According to the NIA, the case was initially registered by Visakhapatnam's Peddabayalu Police Station and was later registered by the NIA on June 3, 2022. The case was filed in response to a complaint filed regarding the recruitment of one Radha into the CPI cadres (Maoist).

The complaint revealed, that the accused Dongari Devendra, Dubasi Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa encouraged Radha to join the Chaitanya Mahila Sangham (CMS) and later radicalised and recruited her to the proscribed organisation, CPI (Maoist), led by underground Maoists RK (since deceased), Uday, and Aruna, among others.

According to NIA investigations, the accused Dongari Devendra, Dubasi Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa attracted gullible young girls to the organisation, CMS, under the guise of social work, and depending on their dedication to the organisation, such girls would be identified and sent to the proscribed organisation, CPI (Maoist).

A NIA spokesperson said, "Dongari Devendra, Dubasi Swapna, and Chukka Shilpa also recruited a few other girls to the CPI (Maoist) and attempted to recruit many more. Investigations also revealed that the accused Devendra took Radha to the forests under the guise of providing medical assistance to someone, and that Uday and Aruna coerced the missing girl Radha to join the prohibited organisation".

"The role of CMS, an organisation, and other leaders of CMS in the larger conspiracy is being probed. Further investigations in the case are in progress," the spokesperson added
