One youth dies, two rescued after drowning incident in Godavari River
Three youths drowned in Godavari; one died, another in critical condition.
HYDERABAD: Three youths drowned while bathing in the Godavari River near Rayapatnam bridge under the Dharmapuri police station limits in Jagital district on Sunday. One youth has been confirmed dead, while another remains in critical condition.
According to sources, the three youths had entered the river for a bath when they accidentally lost control and began drowning. Local fishermen and nearby residents noticed the situation and managed to rescue two of the individuals. One of those rescued was unconscious and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Jagityal for treatment.
The youths were reportedly performing a ritual bath as part of the Durga Deeksha. The police, upon receiving information, arrived at the scene, registered a case, and began their investigation. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
