Pileru police seize Rs 14 lakh worth red sanders, arrest 4

CHITTOOR: The Pileru Police seized red sanders logs worth Rs 14 lakh and arrested four people in connection with its smuggling. Three cars, used for smuggling the precious wood logs were also seized.

The police, led by Rural Circle Inspector Tulsiram and sub-Inspector Venkateswara, conducted vehicle checks based on a tipoff at Yalamanda Cross near Yerravaripalem in erstwhile Kadapa district and found three cars smuggling red sanders logs. The police detained four accused, Sana Ullah Khan, Naveed Beg, Muzaffar from Bengaluru and Reddeppa from Sambepalli in Kadapa district.

Speaking to the media, Circle Inspector Tulasiram said that a case was registered and the accused were sent to remand.
