Police apprehend accused in Asifnagar murder case

The victim, Aleem, was a rowdy sheeter and all four accused in his murder case have criminal backgrounds.

HYDERABAD: In a significant breakthrough, the Asif Nagar Police, in collaboration with the Hyderabad Task Force, apprehended four individuals involved in a brutal murder case. The incident occurred on June 19, 2024, at 10:45 PM near Noble Talkies, Feelkhana Road, Asif Nagar.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Omer Bin Hussain (29), Mohd Khaja (32), Shaik Feroz Pasha (30), and Syed Ghouse (32). All four have criminal backgrounds and were arrested for the murder of Shaik Ali, also known as Aleem (32), a known rowdy sheeter of Habeeb Nagar.

According to the police, the victim and the accused were friends who frequently consumed alcohol together. Tensions escalated when Aleem, after consuming alcohol, would often quarrel with the accused and use abusive language. On several occasions, Aleem forcibly took money from the accused to buy alcohol, leading to growing resentment among them.

On the night of June 19, following a heated argument, the accused decided to eliminate Aleem. They tracked him to a wine shop at Mallepally X Road, where Aleem was drinking. A coordinated attack ensued, with Mohammed Omer Bin Hussain stabbing Aleem in the neck while the others assisted.

The police seized a knife used in the murder and an auto-rickshaw used by the accused.

The Asif Nagar Police, led by Inspectors N Venkateshwarlu and S Balaswamy, along with SI Task Force Sharat Chandra, conducted the operation under the supervision of South West Zone DCP D Uday Kumar Reddy and DCP Task Force Sadhana Rashmi Perumal.
