Rachakonda police arrest 6 for Mahadev Jewellers' robbery in Nagole

HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda police on Sunday achieved the breakthrough in the sensational Mahadev Jewellers firing and robbery case by arresting six persons. The incident, which sent shockwaves in the city, happened on December 1, 2022.
Three of the apprehended accused are reportedly from Hyderabad while the rest belong to other states. The police were able to hunt down the accused with the help of the live tracking of CCTV cameras. It was not immediately clear if the police could recover the booty of gold ornaments that the accused decamped with, on that fateful night.
In an audacious robbery, a group of miscreants barged into the Mahadev Jewellers shop in Nagole on Thursday night and opened fire. Two persons, including gold trader Rajkumar Surana Sukhdev, sustained grievous injuries in the incident.
The culprits reportedly robbed gold ornaments from the shop and immediately fled on two-wheelers waiting outside. The two injured persons were admitted to Supraja Hospital where surgeries were performed on them.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat visited the two victims at the hospital on Friday morning and enquired about their health. The police were able to zero in on the accused based on the live tracking footage from the CCTV cameras.
