YADADRI BHUVANAGIRI: A school bus carrying 17 students narrowly escaped a major accident when its steering wheel came off while the vehicle was in motion. The incident occurred on Friday near Dupally village in the Bhuvanagiri mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Telangana.
The bus, belonging to St Ann's School in Mothkur mandal, was en route to the school when the steering wheel detached, causing the driver to lose control. The bus veered off the road and came to a halt. While some students sustained minor injuries, a major tragedy was averted.
The incident has sparked outrage among parents and locals who allege negligence by school authorities and officials responsible for vehicle inspections. They argue that inadequate fitness checks of school buses are leading to such incidents and demand stricter enforcement of safety regulations.
