Seven people killed as car crashes near Usirikapalli in Medak
A car crash near Usirikapalli claimed seven lives, including four women and two girls.
MEDAK: Seven people were killed when a speeding car lost control and crashed near Usirikapalli in Medak district on Wednesday evening. Among the deceased were four women and two young girls.
The accident occurred when the car, traveling at high speed, swerved off the road and fell into a pit. The impact caused the vehicle to fly into the air, hitting a roadside tree before plunging into a canal. All seven passengers in the vehicle died instantly, while the driver sustained serious injuries.
Road expansion work is currently underway between Usirikapalli and Veldurthi, which may have contributed to the accident.
Police arrived at the scene soon after the incident. The bodies were recovered, and the injured driver was taken to the hospital for urgent medical care. The victims, identified as residents of Pamubanda Tanda, Ratnapur, and Tallapalli, were sent to a government hospital for post-mortem. The car was heavily damaged in the crash.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
