Several students injured as school bus overturns in Katedan
Several students sustained minor injuries when a school bus overturned in Katedan due to drivers' negligence.
HYDERABAD: A private school bus in Katedan overturned due to the driver's negligence, resulting in minor injuries to several students. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Mylardevpally Police Station.
The accident took place on Tuesday evening when the bus of Pioneer Concept High School, located in Manikanta Hills in Katedan, overturned.
On Tuesday evening, as the school day ended, the bus driver, Adil, parked the bus on an elevated spot within the school premises. After applying the handbrake, Adil disembarked. As students boarded the bus to go home, they accidentally released the handbrake while playing. Consequently, the bus rolled back at high speed.
The bus collided with a parked Indica car and overturned. Hearing the students' screams, locals quickly responded and rescued the children. Police reported that 30 students were on the bus at the time, with several sustaining injuries. The overturned bus was later removed with the help of a JCB.
Police confirmed that the accident occurred due to the driver's negligence and registered a case, initiating an investigation. Fortunately, no severe injuries were reported, averting a major disaster.
