Six killed as lorry rams into minivan in AP's Chintoor

CHINTOOR: Six persons were killed while three others grievously injured in a ghastly road accident in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. The mishap occurred at Boddagudem in Chintoor Mandal of Alluri Sitaramaraju district on Tuesday afternoon after a lorry rammed into a minivan.

According to reports, six persons travelling in the minivan were heading to Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam from Chattisgarh. While they reached Boddagudem in Alluri Sitaramaraju district, a lorry rammed into the vehicle, leaving six persons dead. Three others, who were injured, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The victims were identified as residents of Chhattisgarh. The police, after preliminary investigation, pointed to overspeeding as the cause of the accident.
