Six Maoists killed in encounter with police in Bhadradri Kothagudem

HYDERABAD: Six Maoists were killed in an encounter with police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The encounter took place near the forest area of Raghunathapalem in the Kothagudem district's Karakagudem mandal on Thursday.

The police were conducting a search operation in the forest area when they encountered the Maoists. The Maoists opened fire, and the police retaliated. In the exchange of fire, six Maoists were killed. Among the deceased, one is believed to be a senior Maoist leader from Telangana.

The police have stated that the operation in the area is still ongoing. Further details are awaited.
