Student dies by suicide due to harassment from loan app in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old student, Bhanu Prakash, from Sanjay Gandhi Nagar in the Quthbullapur constituency, died by suicide due to alleged harassment from a loan app.

Bhanu, who was pursuing his master's degree at Aurora College, had been distressed over the harassment for some time.

On Thursday evening, unable to bear the pressure, Bhanu jumped into Fox Sagar pond. His friends, using his mobile location, traced him to the pond, where they found his clothes and vehicle near the shore. They immediately informed the police.

On Friday morning, police recovered Bhanu’s body from the pond. Pet Basheerabad police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
