Telangana ACB to arrest Karimnagar Tahsildar; finds assets worth ₹3.2 cr found

KARIMNAGAR: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Markala Rajani, tahsildar and joint sub-registrar of Jammikunta mandal in Karimnagar district. The ACB discovered huge haul of assets worth Rs.3.20 crore in the possession of her and those connected to her.

The ACB conducted raids on Wednesday at Rajani's house and five other places belonging to her relatives, associates and benamis.

The sleuths unearthed a Cash of Rs 1.50 lakh, and Re 25.7 lakh in banks.


The police also seized gold ornaments weighing 1,462 grams worth over Rs.10 lakh; household articles worth Rs 9 lakhs.

The officer also was linked to vehicles worth Rs 31 lakhs and seven acres of agricultural land worth Rs 55 lakh.

The ACB raids found her indirectly connected to 22 open plot documents costing Rs 21 lakh.

The police recovered documents of advance payment agreements for the purchase of three properties worth Rs 50 lakh. However, these valuations were based on the book value of the fixed assets and the market value would be much higher.

The ACB said that total assets are estimated to be Rs. 3,20,16,915.

The officer will be formally arrested and produced in the court.
