HYDERABAD: In a tragic accident near Dundigal's Outer Ring Road, three engineering students from a Bachupally college lost their lives when their car collided with a tanker.
The incident occurred on Friday evening as the students, identified as Akula Akshay, Hari, and Asmith, were heading towards Bowrampet for tea.
According to the Dundigal police, the students informed their warden that they were going out for tea before leaving the hostel. While navigating a sharp turn near Dundigal Exit No 5, their Skoda Rapid veered off course and crashed into an oncoming chemical tanker. The impact was severe, and Akshay, who was driving, along with Hari and Asmith, died on the spot.
Preliminary investigations suggest that speeding and possible intoxication might have contributed to the accident. Two other students, Jashwanth and Navneet, who were also in the car, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a private hospital in Medchal for treatment. The police are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash.
