HYDERABAD: The sleuths of Hyderabad West Zone Task Force have apprehended two persons on charges of murder for gain, chain snatching and a two-wheeler theft.

Reportedly, Koneti Gyaneshware (26) and Neelam Srinivas (33) met in Khammam jail and hatched the plan of murdering a well-known Swamiji named Chelpoori Pedda who received huge offerings. In May 2022, they befriended the Swami by doing services in his ashram and eventually murdered him. However, they were only able to rob one pair of gold earrings and Rs 32,000 in cash. Unhappy with the amount, they decided to snatch chains for which they stole a bike too.

They used the same stolen two-wheeler for all the snatchings. They snatched four chains in Penamaluru PS limits of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh and one in SR Nagar PS limits in Hyderabad.

The police seized the 10.4 tolas of gold ornaments, one Glamour bike and one Cellphone (Lava).
