Two engineering students drown in quarry pits in Krishna district

GUNTUR: A tragic incident occurred in Krishna district when two engineering students drowned in quarry pits near Madalavarigudem, Gannavaram mandal. Four students had gone for a swim in the pits, unaware of their depth.

The victims, identified as Durgaprasad from Tiruvuru and Venkatesh Raju from Hyderabad, drowned after accidentally slipping into deep waters. Local residents managed to rescue the other two students. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and, with the help of locals, retrieved the bodies. The deceased were sent to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
