Two killed in road accident on Garikapadu Bridge in NTR district

VIJAYAWADA: Two people were killed in a road accident on Sunday on the Garikapadu bridge in Jaggayyapeta mandal, NTR District.

The incident occurred on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway, where recent floods had damaged the bridge. As a result, police had set up a one-way traffic system.

The accident took place when two cars, coming from opposite directions at high speeds, collided head-on. Two occupants of one of the cars were killed, and several others sustained injuries.

Police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
