HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Women's Commission has finally responded to the brutal attack on female journalists in Kondareddy Pally of Nagar Kurnool district.

On Friday, the assaulted journalists, Saritha and Vijaya Reddy, met with Chairperson Sharada and submitted a memorandum, urging strict action against those involved in the attack.

The incident occurred in broad daylight when the journalists visited the village to gather farmers' opinions on the much-publicised loan waiver scheme, as part of their coverage. The village, known as the hometown of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, witnessed nearly 150 Congress supporters surrounding the journalists and behaving inappropriately. The attackers not only harassed the journalists but also snatched their memory cards to prevent the recorded footage from being released. Despite reporting the incident to the police, the harassment continued, with one individual even attempting to assault one of the journalists inside the police station, while officers allegedly remained passive.
