ANAKAPALLI: A worker was killed and others injured in a reactor explosion at Vasantha Chemicals, a chemical factory located in the Achyutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh.

The deceased, identified as Pradeep Routh from Odisha, succumbed to his injuries.

The explosion occurred at the factory in Rambilli Mandal on Wednesday. Upon receiving information, police rushed to the scene to assess the situation. A case has been registered, and the deceased worker's body has been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangeti Anita has expressed concern over the incident and sought a detailed report from the District Collector regarding the cause of the explosion
