Young couple attempts suicide on Tirupati's Srivari Mettu pathway

TIRUPATI: A young couple from Chittoor attempted suicide on the Srivari Mettu pedestrian pathway in Tirupati.

The couple, identified as Satish and Radhika from Bangarureddypalem in Chittoor city, had been in a relationship for some time. Three days ago, they left their homes, and on Friday, they consumed poison near the 450th step of the Srivari Mettu path.

Devotees who noticed the couple immediately alerted TTD security. The security personnel rushed to the spot and promptly transferred the couple to a hospital. The reason behind their suicide attempt remains unknown at this time, and further details are awaited.
