HYDERABAD: Gyandendra Prasad, a small-time leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), died by suicide in Miyapur here on Monday.
Prasad was a member of the party's state executive committee and hailed from Bahr constituency in Bihar. It is suspected that Prasad took the extreme step due to severe financial stress.
Recently, he had also questioned BJP's state leadership and made allegations of corruption.
Gyanendra Prasad was living with his family in Alwin Colony in Miyapur and was active in Sherilingampally Assembly constituency. He reportedly ended his life by hanging from the roof at his house. Family members rushed him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared as 'brought dead'.
