Hyderabad to be divided into four corporations: Minister Venkat Reddy
Venkat Reddy announced the division of GHMC into four corporations to address future population growth.
HYDERABAD: Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced plans to divide the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) into four separate corporations to manage the rapidly growing population of Hyderabad.
Speaking at the Urban Infrastructure Summit held at Novotel, Hyderabad, the minister outlined the vision for the city's future development, including major infrastructural upgrades to address the needs of an expanding urban environment.
Venkat Reddy also revealed plans to construct the Regional Ring Road (RRR) at an estimated cost of Rs 30,000 crore. He stated that the RRR would be a game changer for Telangana, providing enhanced connectivity across the state. The project is expected to cover half of Telangana and tenders are set to be invited in November.
In addition to this, the minister announced that a new High Court building would be constructed on 100 acres, further contributing to the region's infrastructural growth.
