HYDERABAD: Kidney patients gathered in front of Praja Bhavan on Friday to stage a peaceful protest, demanding a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 to support their medical needs. The protesters expressed their frustration with the Congress government, accusing it of neglecting their welfare since coming to power.

The demonstrators stated that despite meeting with officials at Praja Bhavan in January to request support, no action has been taken to address their needs. They highlighted their plea for a pension to enable access to better medical care, especially for the costly and recurring dialysis treatments many of them require.

"Under the previous government, dialysis centres were established across the state, providing us with much-needed support," said one of the protesters. "However, the current government is displaying negligence towards our needs."

The protesters urged the government to take immediate action to provide financial assistance and ensure they receive adequate medical care, highlighting that the rising costs of treatment have made their situation increasingly desperate.
