GAJWEL: Former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao said that the defeat of BRS in the recent elections shadowed the proposed 'Abki Baar Kisan Sarkar' agenda that he had set by expanding the party’s operations to Maharashtra.

KCR expressed this when people from Khammam, Mahabubabad, Vemulawada, Narsapur, and Ibrahimpatnam met him at his Erravelli farmhouse here on Thursday.

Expressing anguish over the failure of KCR's rule in Telangana, the activists who came from different places to meet him said that the Telangana society was suffering due to their mistake. They raised slogans “Jai CM Jai KCR Jai Telangana”.

KCR said Telangana was a model state in the country under the BRS rule. He said that the development and welfare activities undertaken by the then BRS Government in the fields of electricity, water, drinking water, agriculture, etc. had continued like never before in the history of the country.

He said that the people of Telangana and neighbouring states like Maharashtra wanted KCR to rule the state. He said that the people of Maharashtra and other states, who moved forward with the slogan of 'Abki Baar Kisan Sarkar' to bring farmers' rule in the country, were deeply saddened by the results of the recent Telangana elections.

He said that the farmers of Maharashtra and the country suffered more than the farmers of Telangana due to the absence of KCR rule. He said that with the defeat of BRS in Telangana, the country has lost the visionary leadership of KCR who could provide a farmer's state.

KCR recalled that the farmers of the country had waged a peaceful struggle on the streets of Delhi against the BJP Government which wanted to derail their lives and the agriculture sector by bringing black laws. “The BJP Government is responsible for the death of thousands of farmers,” he said.

KCR explained that the BRS party, which was committed to alleviating the sufferings of the farmers of the country, took a line from Maharashtra with the slogan of ‘Kisan Sarkar’ and moved forward. “The response from the people of Maharashtra has been overwhelming but the decision of the people of Telangana in the wake of the country's agricultural progress has disappointed the farming community of other states,” he added.

KCR, however, assured the party workers that they would not leave any stone unturned. “In a democracy, the final decision lies with the people. Power is not forever. Opposition is not permanent. We have the people's mandate. Whatever role they assigned, we have to perform it with sincerity. Suffering the loss of power is not a characteristic of a proper politician. Politics is a continuous process. It has nothing to do with winning or losing,” KCR said and reiterated that he would continue to fight for the people's issues and win their affection.

KCR lamented that the Telangana society was suffering badly as today's Congress discontinued many schemes like irrigation, drinking water, continuous electricity fee reimbursement, and CMRF, which were introduced by the previous BRS Government.

KCR made it clear that the ultimate goal of the BRS was the development of Telangana. The BRS chief called upon the workers that they must continue working beyond victory and defeat.

However, KCR advised the visitors to leave prior information of their arrival so that coordination would be easy. “I will have a problem if you come to meet me without prior information, "KCR said.

In a separate statement, KCR said the BRS would announce the names of the constituencies well in advance and appealed to the local leaders to coordinate and meet him. Former MLA Ashanagari Jeevan Reddy and others were present.
