7 labourers killed in oil factory tragedy in Kakinada district
According to reports, seven people suffocated to death while cleaning a massive oil tanker in the mill
G RAMGAMPETA: In a tragic incident of industrial disaster in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, seven labourer were killed due to asphyxiation in an oil factory on Thursday morning. The mishap occurred at the Ambati Subanna and Co. Oil Company located in G Ramgampeta of Peddapuram mandal.
According to reports, the seven workers were suffocated to death while cleaning a massive oil tank in the mill.
Five of the seven deceased hailed from Paderu village while two others belonged to Pulimeru village of Peddapuram mandal.
It is still unknown why the seven workers were not able to get out of the tank immediately and why there was no security team available on the mill. More details were awaited.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister expresses shock
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Taneti Vanitha expressed shock and grief over the incident. Soon after being informed about the incident, she spoke to senior police officials as well as officials at the mill. "The death of seven workers in the oil mill is extremely painful and shocking. My sympathy lies with the bereaved families," the Home Minister Said.
