Andhra Pradesh hikes salary of electricity dept outsourced employees by 37%

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Government has raised salaries of outsourced employees in the electricity department by an impressive 37%. The decision was formally announced through an order issued by the Special Chief Secretary of the Electricity Department on Wednesday.

The move is expected to positively impact about 27,000 outsourcing employees working within the power sector. This income of these outsourcing employees is expected to exceed Rs 21,000 per person. In a bid to further safeguard the interests of these employees, the State Government has also mandated contract agencies to extend group insurance facilities to them.
