Can sisters dent political prospects of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy? How is YSR Congress countering their efforts?

IDUPULAPAYA: APCC president YS Sharmila on Monday met her first cousin, YS Sunitha, daughter of the late YS Vivekananda Reddy in Idupulapaya.

The duo held a lengthy meeting, marking their first encounter since Sharmila assumed the role of APCC president. Sharmila only recently began supporting Sunitha in Viveka's murder case. The meeting gains importance amid Sharmila's strong criticism of the YSRCP Government.

Responding to media queries regarding their sudden meeting, Dr. Sunitha Reddy emphasised her right to meet her sister Sharmila, stating, "Sharmila is my sister, and I have every right to meet her."

Sunitha has been embroiled in implead petitions and court cases in regard to her father's murder.

Meanwhile, Vivekananda Reddy's second wife Shameem, with whom he purportedly gave birth to a male child, is approaching the courts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to implead herself in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case and seek property distribution to her minor son.

Sharmila is going ballistic against Jagan, leveling allegations of failing to fulfill the ideals of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy and she is trying hard to claim Dr. Reddy's legacy.

Meanwhile, the Jagan's brigade is trying to convince the public about the alleged nexus between Chandrababu Naidu, Sharmila, and Sunitha to take on Jagan.

Sharmila is trying to accommodate her cousin in the Congress while her mother Vijayamma is likely to side with Jagan. Sharmila wants to portray the disintegration of the YSR family in a poor light.

This triggered antagonism towards her and Sunitha among the rank and file of the YSR Congress. If Sharmila accommodates Sunitha and her husband Narreddy Rajashekhar Reddy by fielding them in the elections, the YSR Congress is out to publicise that the Congress is resorting to nepotism and family politics which Jagan successfully thwarted after becoming the Chief Minister.

Sunitha wants to highlight the pointers raised against YS Avinash Reddy, Kadapa MP, for the killing of Vivekananda Reddy and at Jagan for shielding him. While the breakaway faction of the family is trying to wash the dirty linen in public, the Telugu Desam wants to curry favor from the raging family feud.

With Jagan's superhit “Siddham” public meeting making waves, the TDP surreptitiously is trying to edge sharmila on her brother and amplify its vilification campaign against Jagan through Naidu's 'Raa.. Kadali Raa' public meetings in different constituencies across Andhra Pradesh.

Though Sharmila is trying to project herself as if she's targeting Jagan as well as Naidu, the behind-the-scenes mollycoddling of Chandrababu Naidu is more conspicuous than the criticism.

Meanwhile, Sharmila is trying to collect the rejects and discards of the YSR Congress, the TDP and the Jana Sena apart from dusting the spent forces within the Congress who lost elections more than a decade ago.

Sharmila has been meeting a lot of senior leaders of “yesteryear” and is harping on the publicity provided unabatedly by the anti-Jagan media.

The prospect of Sharmila’s joining hands with Sunitha was also blown out of proportions by the media.

The YSR Congress on its side is trying to highlight the failure and insult Sharmila amassed in Telangana and how she was bundled out of Telangana despite her claims that she was the daughter-in-law of the State.

Sharmila’s elevation to the post of the APCC which was almost dead 10 years ago is being made a mockery cast by the Congress high command on the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The social media teams and leaders are leaving nothing to chance in impaling the foibles of Sharmila and also the Congress in trying to tarnish the image of Jagan.

In a bid to preempt any likelihood of the people falling into that trap, the YSR Congress ranks are going all guns blazing against the unethical nexus of Sharmila and Chandrababu Naidu by portraying as the snollygoster of woe set order.
