VISAKHAPATNAM: With Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy giving his nod to shift his office to Visakhapatnam by October 24, coinciding with Dasara, the State Government officials are running from pillar to post to make necessary arrangements for the commencement of administrative work from the port city from the festival date.
Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy on Saturday convened a crucial meeting with the officials at Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) office on infrastructure development plans in Visakhapatnam. During the meeting, Jawahar Reddy discussed the official preparedness and identification of buildings in the administrative capital, Visakhapatnam.
“It is a good sign that Visakhapatnam is one of the 20 cities selected by NITI Aayog in India and the port city is also one of the four cities selected for 2047 Vikasit Bharat. Everyone will soon witness the infrastructure and development in Visakhapatnam being readied for the arrival of the Chief Minister. Suggestions have been made to the officials for the implementation of national level infrastructure projects which have already been approved in Visakhapatnam,” Jawahar Reddy said.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) senior leader YV Subba Reddy said that a massive programme ‘Visakha Vandanam’ would be organised on October 15, 2023, welcoming the Chief Minister’s decision of Visakhapatnam as administrative capital for Andhra Pradesh. “All the buildings including the Chief Minister’s office have been made ready in Visakhapatnam. An announcement regarding the shifting of YS Jagan’s office was made only after making arrangements for the functioning of the administration,” Subba Reddy said.
