NANDYAL: Andhra Pradesh police arrested former Chief Minister and TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu during the early hours of Saturday in connection with the Rs 371 crore skill development scam.
The arrest took place at the RK function hall in Nandyal where Chandrababu Naidu was staying during his visit to Nandyal. The police took Chandrababu Naidu into custody amid dramatic scenes with the TDP cadre objecting to the arrest of their leader.
Naidu questioned the logic behind his arrest at odd hours without stating the reasons for his arrest. He wanted the CID to clarify what was the hurry in arresting him.
It’s exactly three days ago Naidu, at a press conference in Anantapuramu, had said that the YSR Congress Government might arrest him. And it might even raid him and attack him. “I lived like a fire for 45 years in public life. Even YSR foisted 26 cases against me and nothing could be proved. There was no evidence in any cases,” he said.
