Chandrababu Naidu asks officials to expedite repair, relief measures

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday urged officials to expedite repair and relief measures in the flood-affected Budameru region.

Chandrababu Naidu inspected the damage caused by breaches in canals and waterlogged regions during his visit to the areas impacted by recent floods.

Starting from the district collectorate, Chandrababu Naidu interacted with citizens and accepted donations for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He then travelled through Enikepadu and inspected flood damage along the Ryves and Eluru canals, reaching the Budameru area where repairs were underway. He stressed the importance of completing the repairs immediately to prevent further breaches and minimise risks.

At Kesarpalli Bridge, Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the flood flow in the Budameru drain and instructed officials to monitor the situation closely. He also visited high-risk areas like Devinagar and Singh Nagar, emphasising the need for quick, long-term solutions to address future flood risks.

During his inspection of the Devinagar railway bridge, a train approached. Chandrababu Naidu quickly moved to a nearby ramp for safety, and after the train passed, he resumed his tour. Later, he returned to the collector's office to continue his review of the flood situation.
