AMARAVATI: Armed with 16 MP seats that he freshly bagged from Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu landed in New Delhi with second in command and JSP chief Pawan Kalyan for the NDA meeting on Wednesday evening.

Before leaving for New Delhi Naidu told the media that he had no plans to dump NDA but added that he would explain everything after returning from the national capital. However, Chandrababu Naidu who stood second in the seat tally next to the BJP would be in a position to demand rather than accept whatever the BJP gave him.

According to news reports from Delhi, Naidu went to Delhi with a wishlist. Naidu might demand the Lok Sabha speaker post and four cabinet berths including Transport, Agriculture, Jal Shakthi, Rural Development, and Health portfolios to remain in NDA. He might also demand special funds to complete the Amaravati, Polavaram and special package for the State.

Meanwhile, the INDIA bloc also intensified its efforts to garner TDP’s support and that of Nitish Kumar. “All those who the BJP once duped will join the INDIA fold, “Maharashtra former CM Udhav Thackeray said. He expressed confidence that Chandrababu Naidu would join Rahul Gandhi’s camp who would soon become the Prime Minister of India. He said that the INDIA bloc meeting would take a call on forming the Government after Wednesday's meeting in Delhi.

A seasoned politician Chandrababu Naidu would have to weigh options before deciding as the NDA gave a long rope to the TDP chief despite his frequent change of mind. His transgressions were forgiven by Narendra Modi this time as the BJP was tagged with the JSP of Pawan Kalyan.

“Chandrababu Naidu must complete Amaravati, secure special status, complete Polavaram, and save Vizag steel plant,” APCC chief YS Sharmila said while congratulating the TDP and the JSP for their emphatic victory.

With the aspirations of the people back home soaring Naidu would have to weigh his options well before taking the jump this time.
