Chandrababu Naidu calls for reduction of VIP culture in Tirumala

TIRUMALA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for a reduction in VIP culture at Tirumala, emphasising the need for simplicity and a reduction in unnecessary expenses.

The Chief Minister instructed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials to ensure that there is no unnecessary commotion when prominent personalities visit the temple. He also stressed the importance of extending due respect to all devotees, whether from India or abroad, and insisted on avoiding rude behaviour.

As part of the ongoing Brahmotsavam celebrations, Chandrababu Naidu visited Tirumala along with his wife and held a review meeting with TTD officials at the Padmavati Guest House on Saturday morning. During the meeting, he provided several key recommendations to preserve Tirumala's sanctity. He urged that only chants of "Govinda" should be heard on the hills and that tranquillity should always be maintained.

The Chief Minister further directed that TTD services be shaped by the suggestions and feedback from devotees. He highlighted the need to improve the quality of the famous Tirumala laddus and annaprasadam. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated his call to reduce VIP culture, discourage extravagance, and respect all devotees, irrespective of their status. He also insisted that TTD officials must strictly avoid any kind of rude behaviour.

Soon after the Chief Minister's visit, the TTD has made a significant decision by cancelling the reverse tendering policy that had been in place for the past five years. TTD Executive Officer Shyamala Rao issued the official orders regarding this change.
