NEW DELHI: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and State BJP Chief Daggubati Purandeshwari met BJP National President JP Nadda in New Delhi on Monday, sparking rumours of a patch-up alliance between the two parties ahead of the 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu, Purandeshwari, and Nadda were all seen having an intense conversation, and it is rumoured that they discussed the political developments in Andhra Pradesh, including the possibility of a three-way alliance between the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena.

Jana Sena, led by actor and politician Pawan Kalyan, is already in alliance with the BJP in Andhra Pradesh. Pawan Kalyan has been vocal on several occasions in the recent past about his desire to see the TDP and BJP come together.

The meeting between Naidu, Purandeshwari, and Nadda comes at a time when the TDP is facing increasing pressure from the YSR Congress Party, the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP decimated the TDP in the 2019 polls by winning 151 out of 175 Assembly seats and 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats. Hence, the TDP is desparately looking for ways to boost its chances of winning the 2024 elections with a three-way alliance between the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena to defeat the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government. But it looks like BJP is reluctant about forming an alliance with the TDP once again after the latter walked out of the NDA alliance in 2019.
