NEW DELHI: Former MP Sujana Chowdary sounded positive about the outcome of the talks between TDP chief and former CM Chandrababu Naidu and BJP's top leadership in New Delhi on Wednesday. TDP chief discussed the possibility of patching up with the national party and working together in Andhra Pradesh.

"The discussions between Naidu and JP Nadda and Amit Shah were positive. The people of Andhra Pradesh have decided to defeat YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, but Chandrababu Naidu must be able to convince the BJP as he knew better why he left the NDA fold," Chowdary told media. He said earlier also there were efforts made to bring both parties together, but they did not succeed.

Sujana said that if Arun Jaitley was alive he would have brought a truce between the TDP and the BJP. "A truce is possible if both the parties recognise the need to work together," he said adding that there might be a possibility for an alliance at the ground level. He pointed out the example of Nitish Kumar who joined the NDA fold.

Meanwhile, speculation was ripe that Naidu was all set to join the NDA and concede five MP seats to the BJP in the ensuing general elections. The BJP would require numbers from the southern States to reach its targetted 400 seats. BJP's ally in Andhra Pradesh, the Jana Sena which already allied with the TDP had been urging the BJP to reconsider its earlier decision of never admitting Naidu to NDA fold.
