AMARAVATI: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with his wife Bharathi took part in the Sankranti festivities held at the Gaushala near his camp office in Tadepalli here on Sunday.

The Chief Minister clad in traditional attire walked through a set created to reflect the holy town of Tirumala a hundred years ago. The festival represented the culture, traditional look of Telugu villages, and developmental activities that were initiated after Jagan Mohan Reddy took over as Chief Minister.

Priests welcomed the couple with traditional ‘Poorna Kumbha’ and the Chief Minister presented robes to the cattle, lit the traditional Bhogi fire, and offered special pooja to the cows at the Goushala. The Goushala was adorned with Haridasas, traditional culinary special items, dances, and the frolic of children. Government whip Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy organised the festival at the Gaushala.

Deputy Chief Minister Kottu Satyanarayana, Narayana Swamy, Minister Adimulapu Suresh, YSRCP regional coordinator YV Subba Reddy, MP Nandigam Suresh, several MLAs, MLCs and officials participated in the celebrations.
