AMARAVATI: Taking serious note of the unabated violence in several districts of Andhra Pradesh during the past three days, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday summoned the Chief Secretary and DGP of the State to personally appear before it in New Delhi.

The ECI said to have taken cognizance of the fact that the State administration and the police failed to control the violence that erupted during the polling on May 13 and had spread to other vulnerable places.
