Election Commission orders transfer of AP DGP Rajendranath Reddy

AMARAVATI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday issued directions to the Chief Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Government to transfer Director General of Police KV Rajendranath Reddy with immediate effect.

The commission also directed the CS to ensure the DGO handed over the charge to the officer below in rank and the officer should not be assigned to any election-related works till the completion of simultaneous elections to the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

It was further directed that a panel of three DG rank eligible IPS officers against the incumbent post should be furnished by 11 AM on May 6, 2024, along with their APAR grading for the last five years and Vigilance clearance to the ECI.
