BHADRACHALAM: A first-level flood warning was issued at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district as the water level in the River Godavari rose to 44.3 feet by Thursday morning. This increase is attributed to heavy rains and inflow from upstream.

On Wednesday morning, the water level stood at 42.2 feet, but continued rains pushed the river to higher levels. The outflow at Bhadrachalam has reached 9,74,666 cusecs.

Authorities have cautioned residents to avoid venturing out unless absolutely necessary due to the persistent heavy rains. Those living in low-lying areas have been advised to remain vigilant. In case of emergencies, they should promptly contact officials. Fishermen have also been warned not to engage in fishing activities during this time.
