TIRUPATI: As many as five girls from the erstwhile Chittoor district went missing on a single day on Friday. The incident has sent shivers down the spine of the parents of girls.

The missing girls have been identified Nandini from Ojili village in Tirupati district, Ramya and Keerthi from Kuppam town, Sanifa from Pileru and Ramya Sree from KV Palle. The five girls were reportedly missing from Thursday and the family members who tried their best to locate their daughters filed a complaint in their respective police stations.

The police have started search operations to locate the missing girls as early as possible. Meanwhile, a similar incident was reported in Palnadu where an girl student, aged 17, went missing three days ago from college. Parents of the girl staged a protest at the college demanding the police to carry out a search operation to find out their daughter's whereabouts.
