Former Jana Sena leader Pothina Mahesh joins YSRCP in presence of YS Jagan

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena Party Vijayawada west in charge Pothina Venkata Mahesh who quit the party two days ago has joined the YSRCP in the presence of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his campsite in Gantavaripalem, in Palnadu district on Wednesday.

Mahesh was upset as the Vijayawada wet seat was allocated to Sujana Chowdhury of BJP under seat adjustment of the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance. While quitting JSP, Mahesh said that Pawana Kalyan was sold out to the Kamma domination in the NDA, cheating the Kapus, who have considerable clout in the coastal Andhra region.

Mahesh organised a rally from Vijayawada to YS Jagan’s Gantavaripalem night halt in Palnadu and accepted a YSRCP scarf from YS Jagan in the presence of YV Subba Reddy and other senior YSRCP leaders.

With the joining of Pothina, a strong Kapu leader with a considerable following among BCs and minorities in Vijayawada west assembly Constituency, the chances of victory for YSRCP nominee Shaik Asif have increased considerably.
