Groom records first-night explicit video and shares on social media, arrested

KONASEEMA: A wedding is an auspicious event in everybody's lives where the bride and groom celebrate their marriage. It has become customary for the couple to record their wedding events — be it haldi, pre-wedding shoot, and other occasions, which will be followed during the marriage ceremony.

However, we are in the days of social media and sometimes youth are taking extreme steps to promote themselves on social media.

On similar lines, a shocking incident was reported in Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district where a groom, who is all set for the first night after the wedding, has recorded explicit videos with his wife and shared a video on social media. The incident caused a stir locally.

According to the Katrenikona police, a boy (20) and a girl (17) from a village in Katrenikona of Konaseema district got married on February 8. As the elders arranged the first night for the newlywed couple as part of the wedding rituals, the groom shot explicit videos of them and posted them on social media.

Meanwhile, the bride, who came to know the matter, told her parents and later filed a complaint against her husband on February 20. The police who registered a case arrested the boy on February 28 and sent him to remand.
